My oh My I haven’t updated our sweeties website in quite a while! I figured this was the perfect time since Miss Talli just hit such a huge milestone! Monday we had some big appointments in San Francisco! She first saw Orthopedics to figure out the status of the surgery she will eventually get, which is the one where she will get a lengthening rod in her leg AS WELL as some sort of hip replacement (her leg is not growing from treatments she received and her hip is somewhat collapsing from her bacterial infection and the drainage surgery that she had to have on top of treatments as well) Since Talli is not in a huge amount of pain and she is still so small it was decided that surgery will most likely be put off another year and then we will reevaluate UNLESS of course she starts having pain. But as of now our girl is running cross country AND placing around 50% of her age group! The doctors were pretty amazed by that! I can’t even express how much joy that brings us! After that apt, she was then seen at the life clinic which is SUCH a huge milestone! There were some pretty heavy conversations about possible side effects from treatment. She is so wise and such an old soul that I think that she was somewhat ready BUT no matter what age the information we received was just a lot to process for her. She has been having some anxieties since the apt but I am just trying to help her process and keep her mind somewhat at ease and reminding her that everything we talked about were just POSSIBLILITIES, NOT definite. She just amazes me in so many ways and her sisters have just been so sweet with being there for her…so blessed to be their mama! We know how much you all love her and we so appreciate the continued love support and prayers!
Sweet Baby Madeleine and her family were one of the first families I was connected too in the beginning of Talli's treatment. Although we have not met yet ,her mother Veronica, I consider to be one of my dearest friends. She was one of the main people I could turn to about anything and she has got to be one of the greatest hearts I have ever met. I felt a deep connection to Madeleine and I know that Veronica feels the same about Talli. Their lil love earned her angels wings January 9th, 2013. This family could use lots of prayers as they try and find some sort of peace. If anyone is interested in reading their story and any updates you can visit Madeleines website at http://supportmadeleine.blogspot.com/. Veronica has the most amazing way of expressing her feelings and thoughts through writing and I know everyone would be soooo inspired by this family and their amazing Faith, strength and love!
I know the flyer is diffficult to read (click on it for a larger view) but this great event will be to support the Alecia's Angels Foundation, who help families with loved ones battling cancer in our Nevada County community. It will be held Saturday, February 16th from 4-10 at the Nevada County Horsemens Lodge. If anyone would be interested in putting up a flyer at their workplace, please contact me either on here or mine or Talli's facebook.
We had met Alecia in the beginning of Talli's treatment. She was fighting such a difficult and long battle with Leukemia yet she reached out to us and showed us amazing strength and love! What a heart. Her family started a foundation after she passed. Alecia's Angels is a foundation set up to help people in the Nevada County community struggling with a family member or are struggling themselves with Cancer. If anyone knows of a family that could use some help please reach out to this awesome foundation or contact me. This is the webpage on Facebook with more information. Also below is a flyer for an upcoming fundraiser they will be having!

Nearing the end of Talli’s treatment I decided that I really wanted to start a foundation out of Tallis page. So far any ideas I come up with I just don’t have the time or resources for. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them. For now since with three little monkeys I don’t have the time to fully commit to our own foundation, I just plan on posting foundations and organizations that I am passionate about…eventually when these girls are older I definitely plan on starting up something! I also plan on posting information on other families that we know through this experience that need help and love and prayer. All of these families I have a special connection to and I know that they would greatly appreciate any prayers and support! Thank you all for following Talli’s journey!
